THE WINE
Our Chenin Blanc has a long and storied history on Pritchard Hill®. The original vines were already producing when Donn and Molly purchased the property in the late 1960s. Following a replanting in
2007, we reintroduced our Chenin Blanc as a “Signature” designation – with a twist. While our Signature Cabernet bears Donn Chappellet’s name, Molly Chappellet’s signature graces our Chenin Blanc label. To
add depth and complexity, the 2024 Chenin Blanc was fermented in a combination of neutral French oak barrels and stainless-steel tanks.
GROWING SEASON & HARVEST
Shaped by abundant winter rainfall, a mild spring, and a very cool summer, the 2025 growing season on Pritchard Hill provided ideal conditions for Chenin Blanc. Budbreak occurred in mid-April,
followed by a uniform bloom and a generous fruit set that required careful crop management, including shoot positioning, leafing, and selective thinning to maintain balance. Cool summer temperatures
and persistent marine influence extended hangtime, allowing for gradual flavor development while preserving vibrant natural acidity. To capture both freshness and ripeness, our Chenin Blanc was
harvested in two passes on September 2nd and September 15th. The resulting fruit displayed pristine citrus and tropical aromatics with remarkable energy and precision, yielding Chenin Blanc wines that
are vibrant, layered, and beautifully expressive of their high mountain origins.
TASTING NOTES
One of California’s most acclaimed expressions of Chenin Blanc, this singular white wine reveals alluring aromas of Meyer lemon, citrus blossom, and green apple. On the palate it is both rich and energetic, with sleek acidity adding poise and tension to vibrant flavors of kiwi, lychee, and lemongrass, as well as lingering notes of nutmeg and vanilla that add complexity to a long, delicious finish.
Shipping Policy
Title to, and Ownership of Alcoholic Beverages
Title to, and ownership of, all alcoholic beverages passes from a Licensee to the purchaser at the licensed retail premises or warehouse and state it is purchased in and the purchaser takes all responsibility for shipping it from the licensed retail premises or warehouse to his/her home state. By arranging for transportation of the alcoholic beverages, the retailer is providing a service to and acting on behalf of the purchaser. By utilizing this service, the purchaser is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with his/her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation, and delivery of alcoholic beverages. The purchaser represents that he/she has obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, is working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, is legally entitled to take possession of alcoholic beverages, and is legally entitled to take quantities ordered and once again authorizes that he/she is 21 years of age.

We may ship wine or sake, on your behalf, to some States in the Continental US. Please send an email to elizabeth@inthecru.com if shipping to Alaska or Hawaii.
We cannot ship wine/sake to the following states: AL, DE, KS, KY, MI, MS, ND, NH, NJ, NV, PA, SD, TN, UT, VA, VT.
Flat Rate shipping for $35 for all purchases under $500. For any order over $500, we offer free shipping.
International Shipping
Generally, we do not ship internationally, as some countries have restrictions on wine/sake shipping. Please send an email to elizabeth@inthecru.com before purchasing. In all cases, local taxes and shipping will be paid by the purchaser.
Signature Policy
For successful delivery of your wine or sake on the initial try, we highly advise selecting an address where an individual aged at least 21 is present to sign for the package. Legally, wine cannot be left without such a signature. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund shipping fees for packages returned due to the absence of an adult for signing. Shipments cannot be sent to APOs, FPOs, or P.O. boxes. Additionally, deliveries will not be made to individuals deemed intoxicated by the driver.
