Notes from the Winemaker

Tasting notes 

Deep dark cherry color. Intense, complex and full of sensations that contrast through the aromas of candied fruit, woodwork, tobacco and fine cocoa. Sweet, soft and very velvety.
Spicy, with ripe tannins and a long finish.

Viticulture & vineyards

The grapes come from our vineyard "El Rincón" located on small south facing slope, ready to take the morning sun, at an average altitude of 600m above the see level.
Poor clay soil, very poor. The subsoil is made up of various layers of earth and white rock
Wine-maker & vineyard management Sáenz de Samaniego family.
85% Tempranillo, 15% Graciano
Plantation density: 3.000 vines/hectare.
Goblet pruning.
Production: 1.5 kg/vine
Hand harvested, in 15 Kg boxes, on 11th October.

Wine-Making
Vineyard grape selection, only the best grapes are taken to the winery.
Light destemming process to avoid damaging the grapes, without wringing out. Pre-fermentation cold maceration.
Alcoholic fermentation in small capacity vats for 21 days at a maximum temperature of 28°C. Reworking and breaking up the cap as appropriate during the fermentation.
Malolactic fermentation in new French oak casks. The wine is aged for almost 24 months in 50% new and 50% for the 1st and 2nd year French oak cask. After that, the wine goes to a wooden vat for extra 5 months ageing.
This wine does not undergo any stabilisation process.

Title to, and Ownership of Alcoholic Beverages

Title to, and ownership of, all alcoholic beverages passes from a Licensee to the purchaser at the licensed retail premises or warehouse and state it is purchased in and the purchaser takes all responsibility for shipping it from the licensed retail premises or warehouse to his/her home state. By arranging for transportation of the alcoholic beverages, the retailer is providing a service to and acting on behalf of the purchaser. By utilizing this service, the purchaser is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with his/her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation, and delivery of alcoholic beverages. The purchaser represents that he/she has obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, is working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, is legally entitled to take possession of alcoholic beverages, and is legally entitled to take quantities ordered and once again authorizes that he/she is 21 years of age.

We offer FREE hand delivery to Miami with a minimum $150 purchase.

Same-day FREE delivery service available for Miami Residents when product is in stock and ordered before 12PM.

Shipping to Other States

We may ship wine or sake, on your behalf, to some States in the Continental US. Please send an email to elizabeth@inthecru.com if shipping to Alaska or Hawaii.

We cannot ship wine/sake to the following states: AL, DE, KS, KY, MI, MS, ND, NH, NJ, NV, PA, SD, TN, UT, VA, VT.

Flat Rate shipping for $35 for all purchases under $500. For any order over $500, we offer free shipping.

International Shipping

Generally, we do not ship internationally, as some countries have restrictions on wine/sake shipping. Please send an email to elizabeth@inthecru.com before purchasing. In all cases, local taxes and shipping will be paid by the purchaser.

Signature Policy

For successful delivery of your wine or sake on the initial try, we highly advise selecting an address where an individual aged at least 21 is present to sign for the package. Legally, wine cannot be left without such a signature. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund shipping fees for packages returned due to the absence of an adult for signing. Shipments cannot be sent to APOs, FPOs, or P.O. boxes. Additionally, deliveries will not be made to individuals deemed intoxicated by the driver.
